Create a Vacancy Posting

Trigger:

 A position needs to be posted as vacant.

 

Business Process Procedure Overview

 

These instructions deal with creating a vacancy posting.  Once a vacancy is created and saved, it goes through an interface and is posted on OSP's website.  The program to post vacancies to the web is run four times daily:

· 9:30 am

· 11:30 am

· 1:30 pm

· 11:30 pm

Continuous Postings should continue to be created and maintained using PMJOBS in PMIS.

 

 

Tips and Tricks

 

· The prerequisites include that the position needs to have a planned compensation record or be related to a job with a planned compensation record.

· There is no workflow associated with posting a position.

 

 

Access Transaction:

 

Via Menu Path

This transaction code is not on the menu path. Enter the transaction code in the Command Field (white field in the upper left hand corner of the screen - if not visible, click the gray triangle in this area to display the Command Field).  Click ENTER once the transaction code has been entered.

2. Click Enter button.

Information:  You may want to enter this transaction code in your Favorites folder.  Choose Favorites ==> Insert Favorites, and type in PQ13, then click Enter.

To see the transaction code displayed in front of the link in your favorites, choose Edit ==> Settings, put a check next to Display Technical Name, and click Enter.

A one to four character code that represents an action. An action is a series of procedures that must be completed in order to achieve a specific objective.

Information:  Use Action 35 to create a vacancy posting.  Use Action 36 to maintain (correct) a vacancy posting.

The Infotype status field will always be [1] for Active status.

You may click Enter to validate that the data you have entered is correct before clicking Execute.

The Validity Date is today's date through 12/31/9999.  It is NOT the same as the posting date.

Critical:  The Salary Grade Equivalent field and Competency Level field should be completed on postings for banded positions (not shown in this example).

Postings may be future-dated by entering a future date in the Vacancy Posting Date field.

The Hiring Range from and to fields will hold the lower and upper Recruitment ranges.

Information:  The validity date and vacancy posting dates will not be the same.  Validity Begin date is the date you enter the posting, and the Validity End date is 12/31/9999.

Different fields on this infotype will have different values based on the type of position being posted.  The type of position is determined from the planned compensation of the position or the planned compensation on the job related to the position.  Refer to the business process overview for more information on creating a vacancy posting.

The Job Family defaults from the position, but may be changed if necessary.

The Contact Person is not a required field.  The Contact Address and Phone Number is derived from the mailing address of the contact person.  If you choose to leave this blank, the contact name, address, phone and fax numbers will also be blank.

Position Vacancy Maintainers (Recruiters) may maintain the mailing address of their position by using transaction code [PO13] (see the BPP "Change Position Address IT1028" for more information).

Click Enter to validate the data before Saving.

13. Click Save (Ctrl+S) button.

Actions for Position

14. Click Back button.

15. The system task is complete.
