There is a need to create a new job that does not have a salary range but does have a series of specific salary values (for example, a training program) - table 510 entry.
Business Process Procedure Overview |
The process of creating a job occurs at the direction of the Office of State Personnel through authority granted by the State Personnel Commission. OSP develops jobs to provide common treatment in the selection, compensation and other employment processes for State government entities subject to the State Personnel Act. A job is a generalized description of duties and responsibilities sufficiently similar in duty assignment to justify that common treatment. OSP must provide the following: name, abbreviation, job family, job branch, EEO code, State SOC code, retirement code, effective date and FLSA status. T 510 Graded and Flat Rate 01/02 - Graded and Trainee 01/03 - Graded and Apprenticeship 03/03 - Flat Rate and Judicial 03/13 - Flat Rate and NCSM For the combinations above, the expected results are: 1. Class range is populated from either the planned compensation of the position or from the job, if there is no planned compensation record for the position. 2. The class range is populated from the actual level stored on the position or the job. 3. Since there are no salary ranges in table 510, the class range on IT9025 has the same value in both the "min" and the "max" fields. 4. The first field in the class range field is open for editing allowing the user to change the entry but the value in the maximum value field is locked for editing. 5. Salary grade equivalent and competency level field are grayed out.

Tips and Tricks
· This BPP will be used to create jobs that derive their salary date from Table 510. They are jobs that have no salary ranges but one value in one salary table per pay scale. This table is not used for rated jobs.
· All jobs must be assigned a retirement code, State SOC code, EEO category, effective date, job branch and job family.
· The internal number range for a job is 31000000 through 31999999, and each job number is automatically created by the system.
The external number range for a job is 30000000 through 30999999, and was used for conversion data.
· Other than this number range, there is no logic attached to the job ID.
