Tips and Tricks

· The next step after this process is to maintain the SOC code and Retirement code in the transaction [ZOMJOB].  There can be different types of Banded Jobs, i.e. Career Banding, Skill Based Pay, Lottery and Reloc banding (Explained further). Banded Jobs are only stored in Table T710.

Information:  This screen can not be completed yet.  Cancel out of the screen, continue through the next several steps, and these instructions will guide you on completing this screen after processing additional steps.

Information:  Document this new job ID number.  You will need it for the next step.

Actions for Job

Contact:  Contact the appropriate representative in Shared Services (whomever owns the salary table) to enter the Salary data for this job.  The job ID would be entered in table T710 as a Pay Grade.  The next step is to create the Planned Compensation infotype and use the job ID in the Pay Grade field on the Planned Compensation infotype of this newly created job.

Level within a pay grade range. Defines the code for the salary range within the pay grade. Each level has a minimum and a maximum amount. This field is populated from the Planned Compensation infotype for the Job

Information:  For Banded Jobs given below are the possible combinations of Pay Grade Type and Area. Pick the combination below based on the type of job that needs to be created.

For all the Banded Jobs the level that stores the complete range should be picked.

For example, "CB" for Career Banding, "PB" for Pilot Banding, Level "06" for Skill Based Pay and Lottery.

If needed while creating planned compensation for the position the required level can be stored. For example, A job could be 02 (Banded) / 06 (Career Banding) with level CB. The planned compensation for the position could denote whether level A, J or C would be applied.

Critical:  After every job is created, it is mandatory to enter a SOC code and a Retirement Code for the job.  This is done via transaction [ZOMJOB].  Please refer to the BPP instructions for [Maintain an SOC Code and a Retirement Code] for a job.

Critical:  For all banded jobs and flat rate jobs from table 710, and graded jobs from table 510 skip the planned compensation infotype during the action.  The 8 digit ID of the job needs to be entered in the pay grade field in the salary tables T710 and T510.  Users must send communication to Shared Services to request entering the job ID into the salary tables.
