Carry Out a Range Revision (Copy Job Infotype)

Trigger:

A job is undergoing a range revision and there is a need to change an infotype on a job object record and keep the history of the previous record being delimited.

Business Process Procedure Overview

When a record needs to be changed on a job object, such as a pay scale type, rather than changing the record and loosing the history of what the previous record was, use the copy feature to make a copy of the original pay scale record, delimit (or put an end date to) the original record, change the new record and set the end date of the new record to 12/31/9999.  This provides a running history of all records and their content for the job object record.
