Perform this procedure to process workflow using the UWL in the portal.

Manager Self-Service (MSS), or 'My Staff,' is a single access point for managers to find employee information and perform managerial tasks.
MSS users must be designated as a 'Line Supervisor' (B 002) in the organizational structure to access MSS My Staff functions.
The Universal Worklist service is located on the main 'My Work Overview' page in MSS. The UWL will be used for limited scope by BEACON. At present time, it will be used only by MSS users as an option to process leave requests.

Procedure:
1. Start all MSS applications by logging on to the BEACON Portal.

Information: After the initial log-on, there will be no additional log-on prompts to access business functions due to Single Sign-On (SSO).
Information: Note Text After the user is logged on, the business packages and tabs on the main page will vary by the user, depending on their roles and authorizations. For example, only managers will see a tab on their screen for My Staff (MSS) when they log on to the portal.
Critical: When using web applications that maintain or create data, always ensure you leave the application (or log off) when you complete work. This will prevent record locking.
4. After logging on, the user will be defaulted to the BEACON Home Page.

5. Click the My Staff (MSS)
tab.

6. Scroll to the UWL on the page.

Information: Any column in the worklist can be sorted. Go to the applicable column and click
.
Information: A workflow item can have attachments. If a workflow item contains attachments, the number of attachments in represented in the
column.
7. To open a workflow item for processing, select an item from the worklist by clicking the hyperlink in the 'Subject' column.
8. When a work item is selected, the lower section of the UWL screen is refreshed with detail of the workflow.

Information: If a workflow item requires processing (approval or rejection), a new window with these options will be launched for processing.
Information: To launch the attachment with the work item, click the corresponding hyperlink under the heading 'Documents.'
